You may not be a big football fan, but I am so read this anyway because it’s good!

I was watching football the other day and I couldn’t help but to notice what was happening on the field. I noticed every time the defensive line got near the quarterback and was ready to sack him, the quarterback started to scramble around trying to find the first player on his team he could throw the ball to.

It happened every time.

Sometimes, the quarterback couldn’t find anyone so he threw the ball away. Other times, he may have found someone to throw the ball to, but they were not necessarily the best person to receive the ball at the time. But he got rid of it anyway.

You see, that’s what we do in the network marketing industry.
When network marketers are not getting the results they are looking for with one product or one company they start scrambling around for another one.

Everything may be great at first, until they get to a point where they have to scramble again.

A quarterback has to scramble a lot throughout one football game. Why?
  • Because he can’t find any eligible receivers!
  • Because his offensive line didn’t quite block for him good enough!
  • Because he didn’t run the play correctly!

So Donald what are you really saying?

  • In network marketing if you can’t generate enough leads to be successful, then you are going to scramble around for the next best thing (YOU can’t find any eligible receivers).

  • In network marketing if you don’t generate some income from the retail sales of a front-end product, then you run the risk of running out of money while you are trying to build your MLM business. So, you scramble around for the next best thing (your offensive line can’t block long enough for you to complete the pass).

  • In network marketing if you don’t know how to market your business correctly, and I’m not talking about being possessed about a particular product, then you are going to fail. Your business is MARKETING so you need to know how to run the right plays.


Unfortunately, too many network marketers spend all their time scrambling around trying to find the next big thing they can grab a hold to and they don’t spend any time learning how to market their business.


If you got down this far in this training, then here is my message to you…

You got into the network marketing business to make money. But you won’t make any real money until you learn how to do it right.

This is NOT something that Donald made up, this is reality, and I had to learn it to.

A football player can’t be in the NFL without knowing all the in’s and out’s of the game.


So, learn the industry you are in and stop scrambling!

Meat and Potatoes for Your Affiliate Diet

Think of banner ads as the spice in your affiliate diet. Sprinkle them around, but for a heartier helping of sales, you'll need something more solid! Learn to give your visitors longer, more descriptive pre-sales text. Revamp your affiliate advertising using these simple steps:

  • Pull the Reader in
  • Introduce the Product
  • Explain the Product's Significance
  • Tell the Reader to Make a Purchase
Pull the Reader in
To convince your audience that your text is worth reading, make your first sentence or two very interesting. Make a bold statement, say something seemingly ridiculous, or appeal to your prospect's emotional side. Then, tie this grabber in with the rest of your copy.


Introduce the Product
What is the product you're advertising? What does it do? Directly after your grabber, give a compact explanation of your product. Keep this explanation short, while still being very clear. This should still be a very short section of your text.


Explain the Product's Significance

What will it do for me?

By writing your own copy, you can directly target your unique audience. Make the most of this opportunity! Clearly explain how your readers will benefit from this product.

No one knows your audience like you do. Suggest a variety of product uses just for them, and give examples. This is the time for details - make this section long and rich.


Tell the Reader to Make a Purchase
You've come so far - you've laid out exactly what the product is and how it will help your unique audience. Now, seal the deal - tell your readers to purchase the product! Include your affiliate link in this section.

This step may sound strange, but it's necessary. Often, people hear about a product and are genuinely interested, but fail to actually make a purchase. A clear call to a simple action cuts down on buyer ambivalence. Don't be pushy - just change your verb tenses to the imperative. Instead of:

"If you think that you fit this profile, you might want to think about buying this product."

Say: "Click here to order an account today."

Drive Sales - Use Long Copy
If you don't feel ready to write long copy yourself, ask your affiliate program manager for help! Many companies release well-written articles by respected authors that you can reprint free of charge.

The novelty of the Web is wearing off. People online now are busy. Surfers won't make a purchase unless you make a great case for what they'll get out of it. And you're not going to do that with just a banner ad.

Tracking Your Results Part 1

"Chop Your Marketing Expenses & Explode Your Income...All At The Same Time By Knowing How To Track Your Resluts"

I can remember when I first started my MLM career and I would spend a lot of time passing out company DVD’s, cassettes, flyers, business cards, magazines, and newsletters. I mean, if it was available for me to give away to someone, then I would.

This was all during the time where I was working full time at my job, but part-time on my fortune (Like Jim Rohn used to say).

After work I would take my marketing tools THAT I PAID FOR, and go to the mall, a grocery store, a park, wherever, just to get them passed out.

Now, I was one of the smart network marketers. I would never give away a tool without getting a phone number in return (That’s the problem with most network marketers, but that’s a different training).

Moving on…

So, I would get 3-10 new prospects each day because I wanted to have enough people that I could follow up with before the next meeting.

All of this activity was ok, however, I wasn’t tracking everything that I was doing at first.

What do you mean Don?

I would sometimes spend hours in a location on a particular day and only get 1 prospect. Then, I would move to another location where I would probably get another 2-3. This process went on and on everyday.


This is what I should have done from the beginning…

I should have created my own tracking system so I could see where I was getting the biggest bang for my buck.

I mean, I was spending a certain amount each month on marketing tools. I was prospecting a certain amount of people each day. I got a certain amount of leads each day. A certain amount of people came to the meetings each week. A certain amount of people signed up as customers and distributors.

All of that activity could be tracked on a napkin, even if you don’t have the right tracking tools!

Once you track your results, and you know your metrics, then you will know where you should be spending most of your time, energy, and money.

Now, I am an online marketer, but I want to continue talking about offline marketing for just a bit because most people can relate to this. This is a very passionate area for me so I want to make sure I drive this concept into very well.

So, read PART TWO of this lesson so you can get some examples of tracking your results.

Tracking Your Results Part 2

"Chop Your Marketing Expenses & Explode Your Income...All At The Same Time By Knowing How To Track Your Resluts"


You have to track EVERYTHING you do. Put a dollar value on your time. This way you know what goals you need to hit.

For example, I always take my last year’s income and compute an hourly wage to it. That’s a simple math formula. For this example I won’t use my income because I want you to be able to see how this can be done with a realistic income that most people are at.

If you made $50k last year, then your hourly rate is about $24.03

52 weeks x 40 hrs per week=2,080 hours per year
$50,000/2,080 hrs=$24.03

So, your time is worth $24.03 per hour that you market your business. Therefore, if you spend 10 hours per week marketing your business (this includes meetings), then you need to make at least $240.30 per week with your business ($961.20 per month).

Remember, time is money. Therefore, time ALWAYS needs to be included in your metrics.

So, let’s go back to the beginning so you can see how you should start the process of calculating your metrics.

Let’s look at your metrics Marketing OFFLINE
You spend $150 per month on marketing tools (DVD’s, magazines, etc.)
You spend $30 per month as part of the company membership
You spend $40 per month on gas to get you to the various places for your business
You spend $961.20 per month worth of time (10 hrs/wk x 4 wks x $24.03/hr)
You spend another $25 on incidentals
This totals=$1,206.20 per month on expenses (To receive about 40 warm leads-10 per week)

  • Only 25% of your prospects will show up at meetings if you are lucky (that’s 10 people per month).
  • Of those 10 people, you will only close about 50% of those people (that’s 5 clients and/or distributors per month).

This means that you need to make at least $1206.20 per month from those 5 clients and/or distributors per month for this business to be worth your Time, Energy, and Money.

The good thing is that if you follow this guide, then you would have made $961.20 each month for yourself. But that only pays for your time. That doesn’t mean that’s a profit. A profit is anything AFTER these results.

You see, too many network marketers spend all this time doing things that don’t produce any results at all because that is how the network marketing generic comp plan is designed.

A network marketer is suppose to pour a lot of their blood, sweat, and equity into their business at first for years before they can start to see a return.

Without tracking your results properly, your are unable to sustain your business for long term success.

In a nutshell…
This means, if you are dealing with a product with a low payout, then it is going to be very difficult, if not impossible, for you to hit these metrics. (If you would like to learn more about my team MLM CLICK Here)

Why? Because you are going to be spending a lot more time to produce the results you are looking for.


This is why I went to the online marketing model


Marketing online allows me to be able to be able to have MASSIVE results, in a shorter period of time. This is what I learned in Magnetic Sponsoring.

Just think, be able to market your business to millions of people with the click of a button. Even if you were able to market your MLM to .1% of a million people each month online. That’s 1,000 new prospects each month.

  • Only 25% of your prospects will pay attention to your company’s product or service (that’s 250 people per month).
  • Of those 250 people, you will only close about 50% of those people (that’s 125 clients and/or distributors per month).

Which method makes more sense to you?

My 5 Simple Steps-The Beginning

“5 Simple Steps I Did To Cause My MLM Explosion From The Very Beginning”

I remember when I went to my very first “Big Event” with one of my first network marketing companies. Prior to the training they were selling training materials in the hallways. (You know how they do it!)

Since I was struggling at the time I bought a set of CD’s called “Power Training”. Much like the other 5,000 people that were at the event I wanted to find the secret that I didn’t know. I wanted to find that little piece of information that was going to allow my business to sky rocket. You know that “Golden Nugget”.

I spent $40 on those training CD’s. I listened to those CD’s in my car, at work, and at home. I listed to those CD’s so much that I was able to recite what the speaker was going to say before he said it.

The reason why I listened to those CD’s so much is because I was still looking for that piece of knowledge that I didn’t already know. But I never found it. Instead, I listed to motivational CD’s over and over again.

You see, I think too many trainers avoid training. Instead, they spend all their time motivating people to take action but there’s no “How To” involved.

But, if you are like me, then you are looking for answers.

You are looking for ways in which you could make some more money.

You are looking for ways in which you could have some time freedom.

So, ok. I am going to give it to you. I’m going to tell you...


"The 5-simple steps that I did to help me to explode my MLM business From The Very Beginning"

I mean, that’s what you want right? I hope so because I don’t write these articles for no reason.

Step 1
I learned how to market my business correctly. I wanted to do more than just be a sales person for some company. I wanted to learn how to market to people using up-to-date marketing methods. I invested my time (big time) in online network marketing training.

Why did I choose online network marketing training? Because I knew that in order for me to personally recruit 200+ people per month then I had to expand my target market bigger than the few places I could drive my car.

During my training time I was approached by so many people that wanted to recruit me for their business, though I already had my own MLM business. I turned them all down because I was determined to learn the art of network marketing. I didn’t want to be swayed by any company tactics or any company tools.

I wanted to learn how to be a successful network marketer. This information was shared with me in Magnetic Sponsoring.

Step 2
Once I understood the concepts of Magnetic Sponsoring I started to advertise my business. I knew that if I wanted to see huge returns, then I would have to risk a little to gain a lot. I knew that my activity knowledge was going to help me to understand the concepts taught in Magnetic Sponsoring.

My activity taught me through the results that I was receiving.

Step 3
Once I started attracting some prospects (through my lead capture pages) I then focused on how I could monetize the traffic I was getting so I could get some of my advertising money back. Though this was knew for me, but that is what I was taught to do. So, I focused on front end retail sales to the leads I was getting.

At first, I was only receiving about 2 leads per week, but then the magic happened when I was able to increase my advertising budget because my front end retail sales increased. My advertising budget went from $50 per month to $150 per month.

But, the coolest thing is that I wasn’t paying for any of the advertising I was receiving. The front end retail money(monetization) that I was receiving was paying for all of my advertising. This is a vital step taught in Magnetic Sponsoring.

I was able to advertise my business for free and keep all the leads I was receiving from my lead capture pages.

So, I did what I was trained to do in Magnetic Sponsoring…which leads me to step number 4.

Step 4
I increased my ad budget again. I mean my front end retail sales were covering my ad budget so I wasn’t really spending any of my own money on advertising for my MLM business.

I set a date each month (which was the 25th) that I would either break even or profit from the monetization that was occurring during the prospecting process. I was able to hit that goal month-over-month.

So, with the increased ad budget I was able to go from 2 leads per week to 2 leads per day. That let me know that I was on to something big.

I had a running business at that point.

I had my own lead capture page, I was receiving income from multiple front end retail products, I was able to generate my own qualified “HOT” leads, and I was able to sponsor many of those people into my MLM.

This was the business system I learned through Magnetic Sponsoring; You, Inc.

Step 5
I focused all my energy in learning how to communicate what I learned to all of my prospects. I knew that I was not going to be able to take on all these people by myself so I learned how to automate my business so the leaders that I was recruiting could do the same thing that I was doing.

This was crucial for me because it allowed me to stay focused on the bigger picture.

Final Thoughts
I did these 5 steps in order. I didn’t try and skip a beat. I wanted to learn the art of network marketing. I wanted to be a master in my field.

I continued to do these 5 steps regardless of how big or how small the return was. Why? Because the return was always bigger than my investment (R.O.I.).

Now, I will say that I am not a master yet. I don’t think any of us are because there is always an internet marketer that has a different trick up their sleeve.

But, if you only take one thing from this article, I want it to be that you have to invest in learning how to market correctly; not from your company, from your own research. That is how you are going to learn how to market to people in today’s market.

I mean, with the concepts I learned in Magnetic Sponsoring, and especially in the MLM Traffic Formula, I can market to any industry, and that’s where you want to be.

Writing A Compelling headline

"There's A Slim-To-None Chance Your Website Will Capture Your Prospects Attention If You Don't Have A Compelling Headline"
Here's Why...


The goal of a good headline is to get your reader’s attention. Remember, you only have about 20 seconds to captivate the reader enough to continue to keep reading. Most people skim over information, especially if there is a lot of information to read.
(EXAMPLES of some good headlines below)

You should focus on using a good a compelling headline whenever you are trying to gain someone’s attention through copy. This should be used when
  • building an online capture page
  • sending newsletters to prospects, or even
  • when sending e-mail.

Remember, people are now bombarded with information from many different sources. So, that means you have to do whatever you can to capture their attention and stand out.

Moving right along

I think too many people put up websites with the intent to make money but they don’t every make any because they don’t know how to properly capture a person’s attention at the very beginning. I know that I have a short attention span at times, especially when I am very busy.

Without a compelling headline, it’s a slim to none chance that the information on the capture page will be read. For example, look at these two headlines:


“DVD for $19.99 on Multi-Level Marketing”


“Learn The 7-Secrets On How To Explode Your MLM Business That Only The Pros Know”



Which one would capture your attention more?

Probably the second one right? Of course. Now, I’m not going to get into copyrighting secrets right now because that is an entire lesson within itself, but I will say that the second headline would be great to use with the right copy after it.

Here are a few other pointers to use when writing a compelling headline. This information has been tested by some of the best internet marketers today

  • Use a Tahoma type 18-point font, or something similar.

  • The headline should be red and bold face.

Remember, your goal is for your headline to stand out. It should scream “Please Read This Article”.

Another good secret that you would want to use is to get into the habit of creating swipe files. Swipes files are nothing more than word docs that have pages of headlines that you have come across while surfing the internet. (The best swipe files are those relative to the niche you are in)

I can tell you, the bigger your swipe file, the more ideas you will get and the better your headlines will get over time. It will also make writing a compelling headline much easier for you.

Every MLM business will have some downline attrition. People have to get started immediately and they have to be able to get a check in their hand as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the typical MLM blueprint doesn't really allow a person to do that.

Tell me if this is familiar: Create a name list, invite a bunch of people to a hotel or to your home, hope that they come, and when they don't then try it again.

The average MLMer spends so much time working on their friends, family, and neighbors that they don't focus on the bigger picture.

Every network marketer needs to know how to create a massive lead generation list. From there, they would build relationships with those people and soon recruit them. If this strategy is not followed, then the new network marketer is gone in 45 days. They won't even wait for the full second month to be done.

So, the question is....
"Donald, how do we create a massive lead generation list?"
Well, like they say in "The Biz",
I'm glad you asked.

In order to beat downline attritition you must be able to convert more leads into distributors.
I mean think about it. If you lose 20% of your organization each month, wouldn't it be smart to recruit that same amount of people each month.

But most network marketers don't see things that way. They only focus on the amount of people they are recruiting and fail to focus on the people that are leaving their business.

Again, downline attrition is going to happen. I can't stress that enough. So, if you have 1,000 people in your organization, then you need to expect to lose 200 each month for various reasons. Now, 200 people is alot to lose if you only have 1,000 people. However, if you only lose 50, then you are doing a pretty good job.

Why? Because if you focused your efforts on recruiting 200 people each month because you expected to lose 200, but you only lost 50, then you will automatically have an additional 150 people at the end of the month (This doesn't take into consideration all your other recruiting efforts as well).

Creating A True Business
